  • 1. About these terms

    These Chair Rental Terms & Conditions apply to every chair rental and renewal booked with Style Studios, at every Style Studios location, whichever access system is installed there.

    In these terms, “Style Studios”, “we”, “us” and “our” means [registered business name and address to be confirmed]. “You” means the self-employed hairdresser or barber renting a chair. “Workstation” means the styling chair, mirror and workstation you have booked, and “premises” means the Style Studios location where it is.

    By ticking the box to agree to these terms and paying for a rental or renewal, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to them. We record the date and time you agreed and the version of these terms you agreed to.

    Any suspension, termination, refund or recovery of costs under these terms will be applied consistently with applicable law.

    Last updated: 28 October 2026.

  • 2. Nature of the arrangement

    You are granted a personal, non-exclusive licence to use your booked workstation and the shared facilities at the premises during your paid rental period, to run your own independent hairdressing or barbering business.

    This arrangement does not create a lease, tenancy, partnership, agency relationship, worker relationship or contract of employment. You have no right to exclusive possession of any chair, workstation or part of the premises.

    Where reasonably required, for example for repairs or safety, we may ask you to use a different but equivalent workstation at the same premises.

  • 3. Rental periods and prices

    • Rentals are booked online for your chosen start and end dates, with a minimum of 7 consecutive days and a maximum of 12 months per booking.
    • The daily rate depends on the length of your rental, as shown in the Rental prices table: £35 a day for rentals of under 1 month, £30 a day from 1 month and £25 a day from 6 months.
    • Rental is charged continuously for every calendar day from your start date to your end date inclusive, whether or not you use the chair, including weekends, bank holidays, annual leave and sickness.
    • Monthly and longer rentals are charged on actual calendar days, not fixed 30-day months.
    • Your exact start and end dates, daily rate and full price, including any VAT that applies, are shown before you pay.
  • 4. Payment

    • The full price of your rental must be paid upfront, online by card through our payment provider, Stripe.
    • Your chair is only reserved once your payment has been completed. Unpaid bookings are cancelled automatically.
    • There is no deposit, and we do not take any commission from your earnings.
    • If a payment is reversed or charged back without good reason, we may suspend your access and online bookings until the amount is paid.
  • 5. Expiry and renewal

    • Every rental is for a fixed term and expires automatically on its end date unless you renew it.
    • We will email you a personal renewal link 3 days before your rental expires. The link is just for you and works until your rental ends.
    • To renew, choose your new end date, agree to the terms in force at the time and pay in full. Your renewal starts the day after your current rental ends, on the same chair.
    • We will never charge you for a renewal automatically or without your authorisation.
    • If you do not renew, your rental ends, your professional profile and online booking page are removed, and the chair becomes available to others.
  • 6. Ending your rental early

    You do not need to give notice to end your rental. It simply expires on its end date unless you renew.

    If you stop using the chair or leave before your end date, this does not automatically entitle you to a refund or credit for the unused days, subject to applicable law. If you plan to leave early, please let us know by email so we can plan for the workstation.

    Nothing in these terms affects any rights you have under applicable law that cannot be excluded.

  • 7. Changes to prices and terms

    We may change our prices or these terms from time to time. Changes apply to new bookings and renewals made after the change. They will not retrospectively change the price or terms of a rental you have already paid for, unless a change is required by law or for safety reasons, in which case we will tell you as soon as reasonably possible.

  • 8. Your customer appointments

    • You are responsible for your own services, appointments, cancellations, rescheduling, customer complaints and refunds, and for maintaining professional standards.
    • Customers can only book online within your paid rental dates and booking hours. When your rental expires or ends early, your online booking page is removed and no further online bookings can be made.
    • You are responsible for contacting any customers whose appointments are affected by your rental expiring, ending early or being suspended, and for rearranging, cancelling or refunding them as appropriate. Style Studios is not responsible for those appointments, except where your rental ends because of our own breach of these terms.
    • If an appointment is cancelled or moved, please use the Release Appointment Slot link in your booking email so the time can be booked by another customer.
  • 9. Independent business status

    You are a self-employed, independent business owner and are responsible for:

    • setting your own prices and managing your own customers;
    • collecting payment from your customers;
    • keeping your own customer records in line with data protection law;
    • paying your own tax and National Insurance;
    • providing your own tools, products and equipment, unless otherwise agreed;
    • holding any qualifications, registrations or licences legally required for your services; and
    • complying with all laws, professional standards and regulatory requirements that apply to your services.

    Nothing in these terms guarantees you any minimum level of work, customers, earnings or continued access to the premises.

  • 10. Insurance

    • You must hold appropriate public liability and treatment liability insurance covering your services throughout your rental, with a suggested minimum cover of £2 million [minimum to be confirmed].
    • You must insure your own tools, equipment, products and belongings against theft, fire and accidental damage. Style Studios’ insurance does not cover your property or your business.
    • You must provide evidence of your insurance on request.
  • 11. Use of your workstation

    • Only you may work from your workstation. You must not allow anyone else, including assistants, apprentices or other professionals, to work from it, and you must not sublet, share or transfer your rental, without our written permission.
    • You must not make alterations to the premises, workstation, fixtures, fittings, electrics or decoration, or install signage or equipment, without our written permission.
    • The premises may only be used for hairdressing and barbering services.
  • 12. Hygiene, chemicals and safety

    • You must follow good hygiene practice and comply with the health and safety, fire safety and hygiene laws and guidance that apply to your services.
    • You must use, store and dispose of chemicals, colours and other hazardous products safely, following the manufacturer’s instructions and applicable regulations, including any recommended allergy or skin tests. Products must be clearly labelled and stored securely.
    • Smoking and vaping, including e-cigarettes, are not permitted anywhere inside the premises.
    • Fire exits and escape routes must be kept clear at all times. You must follow the emergency evacuation procedures for the premises and make sure your customers do too.
    • Accidents, injuries and near misses on the premises must be reported to Style Studios as soon as possible.
    • Faulty equipment, damage and maintenance issues must be reported promptly. You must not attempt repairs to the premises, electrics, plumbing or fixtures yourself.
  • 13. Cleanliness and shared facilities

    Each professional shares responsibility for the general cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness of the premises, including their own workstation, floors, customer and reception areas, bathrooms, toilets, kitchens and any other shared rooms or facilities. The facilities available may differ between locations.

    You must:

    • clean and sanitise your chair, workstation, tools and surrounding area after each customer;
    • promptly sweep and remove hair, product residue and other waste created by you or your customers;
    • leave bathrooms, toilets, kitchens and shared areas clean and tidy after use;
    • wash, put away or dispose of items you have used;
    • place waste in the appropriate bins;
    • take part in any reasonable shared cleaning rota introduced by Style Studios;
    • promptly report spillages, damage, hazards or hygiene concerns; and
    • follow reasonable cleaning, hygiene and waste-disposal instructions from Style Studios.

    We may ask you to put right any cleaning or hygiene issue you are responsible for. A serious or repeated failure to keep the premises clean or to take part in shared cleaning is a breach of these terms and may result in suspension or termination of your rental.

  • 14. Premises access, keys and security

    These provisions apply at every Style Studios location, whichever access system is installed there.

    • Once your rental is confirmed, we will give you access instructions and codes for the premises. Depending on the location, access is by a shared coded key safe or an electronic smart lock.
    • Access codes, keys and other access credentials are confidential and must never be shared with anyone who is not authorised by Style Studios.
    • Where a shared key safe is used, the first professional to arrive retrieves the entrance key, and the last professional to leave must lock the premises and return the key to the key safe.
    • Where a smart lock is installed, you must use your own authorised access credentials and make sure the premises are securely closed when you leave.
    • Keys must never be taken home, copied or passed to anyone who is not authorised.
    • When you leave, you must make sure the premises are secure, including checking windows, equipment and lighting as appropriate.
    • Fire exits must be kept clear and emergency evacuation procedures followed at all times.
    • You must report immediately any lost, stolen or misplaced key as soon as you discover it, even if you think it may be found, as well as any suspected disclosure of an access code, attempted break-in, theft, damage or other security concern.
    • Style Studios may change access codes, replace locks or take other reasonable security measures following an incident.
    • Sharing access codes without authorisation, copying keys or allowing unauthorised entry is a serious breach of these terms.
    • Style Studios may suspend access immediately where reasonably necessary to protect the premises, the people in them or property. Serious or repeated security breaches may result in your rental being terminated, subject to applicable law and a fair assessment of the circumstances.
    • Where an incident is attributable to your breach of these terms or your negligence, you may be responsible for the reasonable, evidenced costs of replacement keys, lock changes or other necessary security measures.
  • 15. Personal property

    • Your tools, equipment, products and belongings are kept at the premises at your own risk and must be insured by you (see section 10).
    • Style Studios is not responsible for loss of or damage to your property, except where caused by our negligence or breach of these terms.
    • Please do not leave cash or valuables at the premises.
  • 16. Clearing your workstation at the end of your rental

    • By the end of your last rental day, you must clear your workstation and remove all your belongings, equipment, products and rubbish, leaving the workstation clean and ready for the next professional.
    • If belongings are left behind, Style Studios may reasonably move them into suitable storage so the workstation can be prepared for the next renter. We will take reasonable care of them.
    • Belongings left behind do not become Style Studios’ property. We will contact you to arrange collection. Uncollected belongings will be handled in accordance with applicable legal notice and disposal requirements, and will only be disposed of after reasonable written notice, except for items that are perishable, dangerous or unlawful.
    • You may be responsible for reasonable, evidenced costs of clearance, storage and additional cleaning, and of repairing damage to the premises, fixtures or equipment caused by you or your customers beyond fair wear and tear. We will give you details of any such costs before recovering them.
  • 17. Accidents, emergencies and temporary closures

    The premises may occasionally be affected by incidents such as fire, burglary, flooding, criminal damage, utility failures, severe weather or emergency repairs.

    • Style Studios may temporarily close the premises or restrict access to all or part of them where reasonably necessary for safety, security, repairs or legal compliance. We will give as much notice as reasonably possible.
    • Minor interruptions that do not materially prevent you from using your workstation do not automatically entitle you to a refund or credit.
    • If your workstation becomes unusable for a material period, we may offer you an equivalent alternative chair, an agreed extension to your rental, or an appropriate proportionate credit or refund, subject to applicable law.
    • If a major incident prevents the premises from reopening, the affected rentals may be terminated, and any unused prepaid rent will be refunded as required by law.
  • 18. Liability

    • To the extent permitted by law, Style Studios is not liable for your lost earnings, lost profits, cancelled appointments or other indirect losses arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including the incidents described in section 17.
    • You are responsible for loss, damage, injury or claims arising from your services, products or conduct, from your breach of these terms, or from the actions of your customers or anyone you allow onto the premises.
    • Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
  • 19. Suspension and termination

    Style Studios may suspend your access or terminate your rental by written notice, with immediate effect where reasonably necessary, if you:

    • reverse or charge back a payment for your rental without good reason;
    • behave violently, threateningly, abusively or inappropriately;
    • create a risk to customers, other professionals, Style Studios or the public;
    • breach health and safety, fire safety, hygiene or safeguarding requirements;
    • cause or risk damage to the premises, fixtures or equipment;
    • carry out unlawful activity;
    • work without any legally required qualification, registration or insurance;
    • share access codes or keys, or allow unauthorised entry or unauthorised workers;
    • seriously or repeatedly breach the premises rules;
    • bring Style Studios into serious disrepute; or
    • commit any other material breach of these terms.

    Any action will be based on a fair assessment of the circumstances and will be proportionate and consistent with applicable law. Where immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect people, property, the premises or the business, we may suspend access first and assess the circumstances afterwards.

    If we terminate your rental because of your breach, unused rent will not be refunded, except where required by applicable law. If we terminate your rental for operational or commercial reasons not connected with a breach by you, we will refund unused prepaid rent on a proportionate basis. Termination does not cancel any amount you owed before it took effect.

  • 20. After your rental ends

    When your rental expires or is terminated, you must stop trading from the premises, stop using your access codes or credentials, and return any keys, access cards and Style Studios property.

    Your belongings must be removed as set out in section 16. You must not enter the premises after your rental ends without our permission.

  • 21. Premises rules

    You must comply with Style Studios’ reasonable operating, security, hygiene, health and safety and conduct rules, as updated from time to time. A serious or repeated failure to comply may result in suspension or termination of your rental.

  • 22. Contact

    To contact us about your rental, these terms or any incident, email info@stylestudios.co.uk. Urgent security incidents must also be reported immediately as set out in section 14.

  • 23. Governing law

    These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
